Columbia Park Elementary School
Our school once again has decided to go forward with a bulk purchase of school supplies , this upcoming school year. This means that families will not have to buy school supplies from a list; rather, supplies will be bulk purchased by the school and will be ready and available for your child(ren) when they arrive in September. The student agendas will be included in the supply fee. It was decided to maintain the cost of agendas and supplies at $37, payable on the first day of school, September 5th. Families with more than two children are only required to pay a maximum supply cost of $74. (If possible, families often ‘round up’ and pay $40 – the extra money generated is helped to offset costs for families in need). Parents may also choose to opt out and purchase their own supplies. For those parents, see the supply lists below for the 2017/2018 school year.

Students in grades 3,4,5,6,and 7 will be completing the BC Ministry of Education Satisfaction Survey in the next few weeks. Of course, we use this information to help us implement programs and to guide us in our planning for the future. If you would like more information, please see the following Ministry of Education website HERE. There is also a Parent Survey, but only parents of grade 4 and 7 students are invited to participate in the survey. Please click HERE if you have a child in grade 4 or 7 so you can finish the survey.

Students and staff are preparing excitedly for this year’s production. We are all very grateful to Mr. Redding who is coordinating most classes. Remember that this year’s concert is Monday, December 12th. We will have a dress rehearsal at 8:35 on that morning for those unable to attend the evening performance. The evening performance will start at 6:30pm (doors open at 6). Please be sure to arrive early. The concert will be about one hour long. Admission by Food Bank donation will be gratefully accepted at the door. We hope to see you there!

Our schools are open today. The RCMP have not recommended that any additional precautions need to be taken at this time, and will advise should there be any concerns for student safety. We are suggesting that families take whatever steps they feel they are comfortable with.
