R.A.I.S.E. “Respect all individuals, self and the environment”

Principal’s Message

As the spring weather arrives early, our classes have been taking advantage of outdoor learning opportunities, field trips, tending to the garden boxes, and participating in community clean-up activities for Earth Day. Additionally, students are enjoying playing the 9 Square in the Air game in front of the school, thank you to the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for this purchase!
April marks the time for student-led conferences, where your child will have the chance to showcase what they’ve been learning in class, discuss their strengths and areas for growth, and update you on their progress towards their learning goals. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out soon to arrange appointments.

With the warmer weather, please ensure your child has a clean pair of indoor runners to keep our gym and classrooms free of sand and mud. There are several exciting activities and trips planned for this month and into May. Grade 2 and 5 students will be going swimming, and grade 7 students will be learning to golf. To stay updated on all the learning and fun events at CPE, don’t forget to check out our school website and calendar.

Principal, CPE

Whole School Runs

For the month of May we will be having school wide runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  On these days students will lace up their runners and head outside to get their hearts pumping and participate in a 2 Km walk, jog or run.

CPE phones at CPE

Cell phone usage in schools has been a regular topic in the news lately. You can find our cell phone policy detailed in your child’s agenda. We believe that cell phone use can hinder important social and developmental learning that occurs through interaction and play. To promote an active lifestyle during recess and lunch breaks, we suggest students leave electronic devices at home. However, there’s a phone available for student use in the front office, and if you need to get in touch with your child, you can leave a message with our secretary, Mrs. Echlin.  If your child is required to bring their cell phone to school, we ask that it be left in their backpack on silent or with their teacher.

Youth Access Fund

Revelstoke’s Youth Access Fund, (YA Fund) was established in 2014 as a way to ensure all youth have equal opportunity to participate in sports, recreation, arts and cultural programs, events and activities. The YA Fund is designed to help remove financial barriers, (including registration fees, equipment, transportation and other costs associated with participation), for youth from low and modest income families to participate in activities that they would otherwise not be able to do. Please see the attached information if you would like to receive more information on how to access this fund.
