Principal’s Message

Welcome back CPE families! We hope you had a restful December break and enjoyed your time with family and friends. As we settle back into school, students will be reconnecting with classmates, rebuilding routines, and getting back into the rhythm of learning together. We are beginning January with school-based activities such as skating, skiing and snowboarding, while also returning to focused learning as students work toward their personal goals and continue to strengthen core skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth. We are looking forward to seeing you back at school on Monday!

CPE Principal

Basketball
The District Grade 6 & 7 basketball season has begun. Teacher coaches Ms. Findlay and Ms. Lacroix will lead the girls’ team, while parent coach Ms. Flexman will coach the boys’ team. The teams will compete against the other two elementary schools each Thursday after school, with a wrap-up tournament scheduled for late February.

Battle of the Books

This annual reading program is open to students in Grades 3–7. Students will read 10 books by March, when they will go head-to-head with AHE and BVE to see who knows the books best. This year, the School District Battle Of the Books will take place on Thursday, March 5th at BVE.  Students still have time to participate and start reading!

CPE PAC News
The next PAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 6:30 pm in the CPE Library. Free childcare will be available.

Thank you to our PAC for hosting another successful Winter Pop-Up Shop, creating the CPE Fundraising Calendar, and running a very successful Purdy’s fundraiser. We truly appreciate your continued support of our school community.

The CPE PAC supports school events, activities, equipment, and more throughout the year, and every CPE parent is automatically a PAC member. There are many opportunities to contribute, whether a little or a lot, depending on what works for you!

Parent/Caregiver Series
These sessions are open to all parents, caregivers, school district employees, and community partners who would like to come together to learn. The location will be confirmed and shared in January.

Tea and treats will be provided, and a virtual option will be available for those who prefer to attend online.

Where: Details to be shared in January
Time: Typically 6:30–7:30 pm, with an additional 30 minutes for questions and discussion

Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a child born in 2021? It’s time to register for Kindergarten in Revelstoke!

We are excited to welcome parents, guardians, and caregivers to register children born in 2021—who will be turning five years old in 2026 for Kindergarten starting this September. Revelstoke School District aims to ensure that staffing and resources are in place at our neighbourhood schools to support all incoming Kindergarten students.

Registering new Kindergarten students early helps us prepare for our newest young learners!
