Principal’s Message

October has been a busy and rewarding month at CPE! Thank you to all the families who participated in our Goal-Setting Conferences. These conversations are an important part of helping students take ownership of their learning, celebrate their successes, and identify areas where they can continue to grow.

As we move into November, we will continue to encourage students to work toward their learning goals, persevere when things get challenging, and always try their best. We want students to recognize the progress they are making and understand that mistakes and challenges are a natural part of learning. Celebrating small successes and seeing how much they have grown helps build confidence and a positive attitude toward learning.

During November and December, our school-wide RAISE focus will be on Respecting Self. We will be encouraging students to make responsible choices, take ownership of their actions, and learn from their mistakes. We will also be learning about Bear, which represents the Core Competency of Personal and Cultural Responsibility. Bear teaches us about strength, courage, and respect for ourselves and others. Students will explore what it means to take care of themselves, show kindness, make good choices, and contribute positively to our school community.

We look forward to another great month of learning and growing together at CPE!

School Goals 2026–2027

At Columbia Park Elementary, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive school where all students feel safe, connected, and valued. Our School Learning Plan helps guide our teaching and ensures we are working together to support student learning and success.

This year, our school continues to focus on three important areas: Literacy, Numeracy, and Social-Emotional Learning. We are building on the work of previous years, with a focus on strengthening reading, writing, and math skills, while also helping students develop confidence, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging at school.

Throughout the year, staff work together to review student progress, share ideas, and identify ways to best support our learners. By using classroom observations, assessments, and ongoing discussions, we can celebrate successes, recognize areas for growth, and make adjustments to support the needs of our students.

CPE PAC Fundraiser

On Saturday, November 7th, head to Subway Revelstoke and support CPE! From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., 20% of all sales will be donated to the CPE PAC.

Our PAC does so much for our school, providing equipment, hot lunches, classroom supplies, and support for special activities and events that benefit our students.

Bring your family, tell your friends, and enjoy a meal while supporting our school! A big thank you to Subway Revelstoke for supporting CPE and to our wonderful PAC for all they do!

Remembrance Day

CPE will be holding our Remembrance Day assembly on Tuesday, November 10th, at 10:40 a.m. in the gymnasium. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Rawling’s Grade 5/6 class and Ms. Ausman for the time and care they are putting into organizing this meaningful ceremony. We warmly welcome parents and guardians to join us as we come together to remember and honour those who have served for our country.

As a reminder, there will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Remembrance Day.
